Luke "Mitch" Marshall Meche, Sr.

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia honoring the life of Luke "Mitch" Marshall Meche, Sr., 87, who passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at his residence.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 2:30 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.

A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening.

Father Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Laken Garney and Marissa Terry. Gift bearers will be Loran Meche and Daniel Terry.

Burial will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.

Mitch was an honorable veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy, embodying the values of dedication and service throughout his life. An amazing salesman in the auto industry, he had great qualities that earned him countless friendships and the trust of those he served. He was the first person one would want to call if ever in need.

A devoted parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, Mitch actively served as an usher, reflecting his deep faith and sense of community. He was a man of the outdoors, with a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping, where he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. One of his favorite hobbies was picking pecans.

Mitch was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Pellerin Meche; sons, Micah Meche (Danielle), Monte Meche (Kayla) and Luke Meche, Jr. (Connie); daughter, Lyonia Monique Roussel (Fabian); brother, Warren Meche (Sherry); grandchildren, Devyn Meche, Ryan Miller (Kaitlyn), Mitchell Meche, Laken Garney, Gavin Meche, Loran Meche, Micah Meche, Jr. and Marissa Meche Terry; and great-grandchildren, Eryn, Jaxon, Gray, Monroe, Valec and Shepard.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilda Latiolais Meche and Charles Meche; sister, Leola Pierelli; and grandson, Nathaniel Garney.

Pallbearers will be Carl Benoit, Dino Pierelli, Robert Coleman, Colby Patin, Gavin Meche and Mitchell Meche.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Micah Meche, Jr.
