Luna Belle Castex Thibodeaux

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Luna Belle Castex Thibodeaux , 91, who passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Butch Hebert at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Rev. Lloyd Benoit, pastor of Church of the Assumption in Franklin, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures will be Chris McGough and Sue Thibodeaux. Gift bearers will be Claire McGough, Lisa Waller and Melissa Strickland. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Luna enjoyed having neighbors, family and friends over for coffee every day. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was member of the V.F.C. Home Demonstration Club, St. Bernard Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. Luna and her husband, Lee, were the owners of Thibodeaux Slaughter House until the 70s. She was employed at Heymanns Depatrment Store and was also a greeter at Wal Mart. She is survived by her son, Kenneth "Halfpint" (Deborah) Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Priscilla (Ralph) Breaux of Breaux Bridge; her grandchildren, Stacey Thibodeaux, Melissa Strickland, Jonathan Breaux, Lisa (Casey) Waller and Claire (Chris) McGough; her great grandchildren, Ava Thibodeaux, Brylee Thibodeaux, Thomas Jacob Waller, Ana McGough and Colton Quebedeaux. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thibodeaux; mother, Laura Roy Castex; father, Ferdinand Castex; brothers, Garland Castex, Harvey Castex, Nolan Castex and Clarence Castex; sisters, Rowena C. Thibodeaux and Violet C. Broussard. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Breaux, Stacey Thibodeaux, Brylee Thibodeaux, Casey Waller, Chris McGough and Jimmy Castex. Honorary pallbearers will be Simon Marks and Lennet Castex. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
