Marcelle Larroque Hussey

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, for Marcelle Larroque Hussey, 91, who passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette.

Rev. William Blanda will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Friday, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday.

A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hussey was born on October 28, 1931, in Jeanerette, to the late Vincent R. Larroque, Sr. and Yvonne Dencausse Larroque. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy and attended the Dominican College, in New Orleans. Mrs. Hussey was a former Queen of the Krewe of Andalusia and the Krewe of the Iberians. She enjoyed going to her camp at Cypremort Point and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Roger E. Hussey; daughter, Christine H. Vidrine; grandchildren, Cameron Vidrine and Lauren H. Sumrall (Brady); great grandchildren, Carson Vidrine, Anna Claire Vidrine, and Caroline Sumrall.

In addition to her parents. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent R. Larroque, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Vidrine, Brady Sumrall, J. Edward Fremin, Hugh J. Billeaud, III, Dan Doerle, and George Reeves.
