Margie was born on January 22, 1926, in Arnaudville. Margie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved visiting the casino, where she enjoyed the excitement and fun of spending time with friends and family. At home, she could often be found watching her favorite soap operas, faithfully following the lives and stories of the characters she had come to know over the years.
Music was also an important part of Margie's life. She especially enjoyed listening to K-BON, whose Cajun and swamp pop tunes brought her comfort and happiness. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to French music. One of her favorite occasions was attending the birthday celebrations at the nursing home, where she enjoyed gathering with others, sharing laughter, and celebrating special moments.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Rick) Lanerie (Elaine) and Gerald (Boz) Lanerie (Monique); grandchildren, Mickey Lanerie (Kasmin), Dena L. Stanfield (David), Corie Lanerie (Keri), and Renee L. Guidry (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Presli Lanerie (Ryker), Dailyn Stanfield (Tucker), Kaci Martinez (Kolby), Kristen Lanerie, Shawna Guidry and Blake Guidry (Jordan); and her great-great grandchildren, Brinlee Angelle, Amelia Angelle, Carter Guidry, Kai Martinez, Kora Martinez and Theodore Martinez.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Jean "Teboug" Lanerie; parents, Addie Jean and Germaine Guidry Thibodeaux; brother, James Thibodeaux; and her sisters, Rita T. Breaux and Ethel Thibodeaux; grandson, Parrish Lanerie.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
