Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Marie Theriot Menard, 85, who passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1. Fr. Paul LaFleur will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Victoria Menard, Donna Menard, and Betty Frederick. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World Society. Marie had a zest for life, which she lived to the fullest; she enjoyed meeting new people, always enjoyed sharing a good joke - laughing with her friends and family, going dancing, as well as teaching people how to dance, and going to the casino. She was a wonderful cook and always looked forward to preparing meals for her family and friends to enjoy, no matter the occasion. The greatest joy in her life was the company of her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchild; her love for them was boundless and unconditional. Her presence here will be sadly missed, but the memories shared with her will live forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives shes touched in her life. Survivors include two sons, Francis Dale Menard and his wife, Maurita, and Steve John Menard and his wife, Donna, all of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Jean Menard Broussard and her husband, John, of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Dax Menard and his wife, Kayla, Nicole Landry, Cody Menard, and Victoria Menard; and one great grandchild, Evan Dale Menard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Menard; her parents, Lezin and Arsene Trouard Theriot; three brothers, D. J. Theriot, Roy Theriot, and John Theriot; three sisters, Dora T. Barras, Octavia LeBlanc, and Rowena Broussard; and two grandchildren, Ashley Landry and Ty Menard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Dale Menard, Steve Menard, Dax Menard, Cody Menard, Brad Menard, and John Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be George Menard, Nolan Menard, Harold Menard, James Camille, and Whitney Savoy.
