Martin Watkins

Cecilia- Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Monday, April 25, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Martin Paul 'Marty' Watkins, 33, who died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Father Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Betty Frederick and Angela Frederick Thevenet. Gift Bearers will be Sydney Branch and Kirstin Stelly. Marty was a graduate of Cecilia High School and attended Pilot School - Marine Division. He had a love for the ' Mighty River ' and most especially loved spending time with his niece and nephew. Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Linda Theriot Watkins of Cecilia; his brother, Jody Watkins of Cecilia; his sister, Marie Branch of Cecilia; his nephew, Sawyer Watkins; his niece, Sydney Branch; his godmother, Angela F. Thevenet of West Lake ; and his godfather, Terry Frederick of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Eliza Theriot; and paternal grandparents, Cecil and Delta Watkins. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Marcel 'Butch' Hebert at 2 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Terry Frederick, Jody Watkins, Brock Melancon, Jonathan Boyer, Jake Lavergne, and Kyle Courville.
