Mary Ada Belle David Broussard

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, for Mary Ada Belle David Broussard, 85, who passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Lafayette.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with a reception immediately following, at Pellerin Funeral Home.

Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 11:00 am.

A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard was born on July 13, 1940 in Delcambre, to the late Ellie and Agnes Touchet David. She had worked for awhile at Fruit of the Loom, in Jeanerette and St. Martinville. Mrs. Broussard was a devoted and awesome homemaker, mother and cook. Her late husband, “Bruce” affectionately nicknamed her “Choock”. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Broussard also enjoyed trips to Anchorage, Alaska with her granddaughter, Chantele, and camping trips to Bull Shoals and several other campgrounds in Arkansas, with Tiggie and Gill.

Survivors include her children, Ted Broussard (Melanie) of St. Martinville, Carrie Verret (Bobby) of New Iberia, Shirley Guillotte (Gill) of Scott, Tina B. Coughlin (Trey) of Jeanerette, Randy J. Boussard, Sr. of New Iberia, and Joseph R. “Topy” Broussard, Jr. (Alice) of St. Martinville; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and 1due in November.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph R. “Bruce” Broussard, Sr.; a son, Michael Broussard; and her siblings, Purvis David, Shirley Dautreuil, and Eddie David.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Broussard, Jacob Broussard, Jordon Broussard, Ray Coughlin, Damon Suire, and Braiden Breaux.
