Mary married young and spent the early part of her life as a homemaker raising 11 children. She was well known by family and friends for her extraordinary sewing and cooking skills. Being a skilled seamstress, she was able to make all her children's school clothes and created beautiful dresses for her daughters. Additionally, she contributed financially to the household budget by creating and sewing dolls and bears which she sold.
Later in life, as her family required less of her time, she began to pursue more of her own interest and never shied away from a challenge or risk. She entered the workforce as a cook where she was employed by JMMMNH for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her circle of friends, volunteering for community events such as the Etouffee Festival, watching crime/thriller programs and reading. Her greatest passion, however, was her family and was always present at any family social event. She especially enjoyed spending time spoiling her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She is survived by her sons, Tommy Taylor, Charles Taylor (Monica), Preston Taylor, Mike Taylor (Paula), Douglas Taylor (Jay) and Mitch Taylor (Catherine); daughters, Mary Richard (Myron) and Sylvia Quebedeaux (Craig); brother, Floyd LeBlanc (Charlie); grandchildren, Teisha, Amy, Tory, Audrey, Sara, Lanie, Kainin, Macy, Blaire, Kandace, Michael, Dawson, Justin, Kyle, Trent, Alyce, Bryce, Tiffany, Adrian, Alex, Chasity, Amber, Lain, Hannah and Kyle; 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Preston Bruno Taylor; son, Edgar Taylor; daughters, Rose Richard (Wayne) and Audrey Taylor; grandchild, Kristi Theriot; and parents, Clarence LeBlanc and Hilda Marks LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Taylor, Charles Taylor, Mike Taylor, Lain Quebedeaux, Bryce Taylor and Myron Richard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Taylor, Preston Taylor and Mitch Taylor.
