Mary Joyce Champagne

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Mary Joyce Champagne, 81, who passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:30 pm until 9 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7 am until 9:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Monday. Fr. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kala Guichard and the Gift Bearer will be Miriam Theriot. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mary was born and raised in the rural community of Cypress Island. She looked forward to watching EWTN daily for the Rosary, offering her prayerful intentions to those in need. Mary loved caring and cooking for her family - they were her life. She is survived by her son, Benny LeBlanc and his wife, Michele, of Cypress Island; her daughter, Janice LeBlanc Dupuis and her husband, Alvin, of Cypress Island; her brother, J.P. Champagne of Cypress Island; her grandchildren, Bradley LeBlanc, Kala Guichard, Donney LeBlanc, Miriam D. Theriot and her husband, Keith, Daniel Dupuis, and Gerard Dupuis; and her great grandchildren, Sean Champagne, Layne Theriot, and Jayde, Ty, and Bailey LeBlanc. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecilia Marie "Duce" Delahoussaye and Leo Joseph Champagne. Pallbearers will be Bradley LeBlanc, Donney LeBlanc, Daniel Dupuis, Gerard Dupuis, Sean Champagne, and Robert K. Theriot. Honorary pallbearer will be J. P. Champagne. The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Danielle S. Stafford, Brook Stafford, and Alex Knott.
