Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Mary Lou Alex, 85, who passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from  7:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 12th.

Father Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Alex was the matriarch of her family. She loved cooking and baking for them, as well as spending time with them.  She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing cards, and going to the casino.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John Alex, Sr.; children, Paul Declouet, John Steven (Angela) Alex, Mandy (Lawrence) Celestine, Sarah Goodie, Elizabeth (Luke Aubrey Jr.) Alex, and Pierre "Shon" (Yvonne) Alex; and her brother Joseph Rodney (Lillie) Jolivette.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Suzanne Broussard Jolivette; sisters, Mary Arella Lewis, Mary Zula Green, Mary Catherine Sias, Mary Annie Papillion, and Mary Irene Papillion; brothers, Joseph Bradley Jolivette, Joseph Felton Jolivette, Joseph Theophile Jolivette, and Joseph Author Jolivette; and her grandchildren, Patrice Celestine, Quinton Goodie, and Katrice Celestine.

Pallbearers will be Luke Aubrey III, Melvin Goodie, James "Jim" Chevalier, Carl Jolivette, Claude "Ed" Lewis, and Joseph "Eddie" Borel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Declouet, John Steven Alex, Pierre Alex, Luke Aubrey Jr., Lawrence Celestine, and Quinton Mitchell.
