Mary "Du Dos" Agnes Prejean

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Churchs Borel Center in Breaux Bridge, for Mary Agnes "Du Dos" Prejean, 66, who passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 11:00 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. David Broussard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Chantelle Prejean and Cicily LeBlanc. Gift Bearers will be Kelsie Sonnier and Krislyn Cormier. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mary teasingly referred to herself as "Whip Appeal" because she was full of life and a jokester. She was a devout Catholic who trusted God whole-heartedly. Nothing meant more to Mary than her family, whom she loved unconditionally. Her family and friends will miss her sense of humor and love she showed to all of them. She is survived by her companion, Ulysses Batiste; her son, Lennis Prejean; daughters, Rashawnda Prejean and Chantelle Prejean; and her grandchildren Don' Travin Batiste and Javon Batiste. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Ruby Alexander Broussard; her brothers, Percy, Leroy, Daniel, and Harold Broussard; and her sisters, Peggy Broussard and Elsie Gary. Pallbearers will be Devin Arceneaux, Lavin Auzenne, Andre' Broussard, Harold Broussard, James Broussard, Troy Broussard, Keithan Cormier, and Nathan Gary. Honorary pallbearers will be Lennis Prejean, Cameron Houston, Ulysses Batiste, Russell Auzenne, Nedley Gary, and Joseph Sam.
