Mason Wayne Desormeaux, Sr.

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Mason Wayne Desormeaux, Sr., 71, who passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in New Iberia.

Rev. Keith Landry will be the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM on Monday.

A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 AM Monday.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mason Wayne Desormeaux, Sr. was born on August 24, 1951, and proudly served our country in the Army National Guard for six years. He worked as a Pipe Recovery Supervisor in the oilfield for many years. Mr. Desormeaux enjoyed baking, and loved making his kids' and grandkids' favorite birthday cakes. He also loved fishing, NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr.), and football, but what he cherished most was time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Desormeaux is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Viator Desormeaux; daughter, Amy Desormeaux Fremin (Turk); son, Mason Wayne Desormeaux, Jr.; siblings, Marion Desormeaux (Faye), E.J. Desormeaux (Linda), Eddie Desormeaux (Noel), Dianna Theriot (Kevin, Sr.), Lula Mae Perez, and a half-sister Audrey; grandchildren, Maci Fremin, Nic Fremin, Melody Desormeaux, Eli Desormeaux, and Kason Desormeaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Lucy Meaux Desormeaux; siblings, Mildred Delcambre, Judy Laine, and David Desormeaux; and a brother-in-law, Godfrey Perez.

Pallbearers will be Turk Fremin, Nic Fremin, Mason Desormeaux, Jr., Eli Desormeaux, Rodney Desormeaux, and Kevin Theriot, Jr.

Honorary pallbearer is Kason Desormeaux.
