Mathilde Dore Dejean

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Mathilde Dore Dejean, 87, who passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:30 am until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until 10 am. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Scriptures will be read by Gerry Cormier. Gift Bearer will be Mae H. Bergeron. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mathilde enjoyed sewing, doing arts and crafts, traveling, and cooking for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Marella Dejean of St. Martinville; and her sister, Helen Romero. She is preceded in death by her parents, Celivain and Celine Laviolette Dore; five brothers, John, Paul, Elmore, Joseph, and Lully Dore; and four sisters, Leah Frederick, Pauline Bourque, Lorena Freeman, and Evelyn Broussard. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dore, Ernest Dore, Leroy Fremin, Jr., Daniel Romero, David Romero, and Sidney Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jules Dore and Nolan Dore.
