Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm, on Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, for Maudry S. Devillier, 66, who passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 pm on Sunday April 24, 2016 and continue on until 1:30 pm on Monday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm on Sunday.
Rev. Kenneth Domingue will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville.
Maudry enjoyed going to the casino, cooking, dancing, playing Bingo and listening to Cajun and Swamp Pop music. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her special dog, Princess, whom she loved unconditionally. Maudry was known to many as the life of the party and was very outgoing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, John Ray Devillier of Henderson, Merrick Devillier, Jr. and wife Michelle of Opelousas and Francis Devillier of Henderson; brothers, Joseph Ophie Savoie and wife Serena of Arnaudville, Joseph "JY" Yves Savoie and wife Caroline of Brookhaven, MS, Joseph Floyd Savoie and wife Rita of Cecilia, and Joseph Curtis Savoie, Sr. and wife Tina of Breaux Bridge; sisters, Betty Boudreaux and husband Larry of Henderson, Rose Stelly of Cecilia, Enola Knott and husband Percy of Cecilia, and Delores Daigle of Arnaudville; and grandchild, Amber Lynn Devillier of Fayetteville, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ovie and Evelyn Richard Savoie; husband, Merrick Devillier, Sr.; and sisters, Dearalee Devillier, Edna Stelly, Joyce Bernard, and Mary Norma Savoie.
Pallbearers will be Evans Devillier, Joseph Ophie Savoie, Joseph Curtis Savoie, Merrick Devillier, Jr., Michael Savoie and Larry Boudreaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
