Maudry B. Saucier

July 13, 1941 — July 21, 2022

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Maudry B. Saucier, 81, who passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

 

A visitation will take place at the Dion Church Hall in Catahoula, La. on Saturday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

 

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Saturday.

 

Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scripture will be read by Jenna Wiltz and Skye Ducharme. 

 

Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.

 

Maudry was employed with the St. Martin Parish Clerk of Court for 30-plus years.  She was a member of the St. Rita's Altar Society.  Maudry loved quilting, sewing, going on bus trips, and her biggest joy in life was her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful ham soup, lemon pies, and her pecan rolls that brought a joy to each and everyone.  Maudry will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

 

She is survived by daughters, Jacquelyn Smith and Carmen (Steve) Richard; step-daughters, Diane (Errol) Knott, Sue (Bobby) Degeyter, Ruth (Cecil) Dupre, and Anna Gayle Bourque; step-son John Saucier, Jr.; brothers, Stanley (Gert) Bourgue, Charles "Keke"(Barbara) Bourque, and Antoine Bourque, Jr; and her sister, Lucretia (John) Wiltz; grandchildren, Roxy (Bill) Finney, Ricky Smith, Jr., Jacques (Danielle) Smith,  Minnie (Trevor) Landry, Steve (Reagan) Richard, Jr., Alton (Kara) Richard, and Rebecca Richard; great-grandchildren, Caleb Finney, Keyghan Smith, Cameron Smith, Zaine Smith, Aubrey Smith, Mason Landry, and Oliver Richard; step-grandchildren, Karen Knott, Julie Langwell, Kelly Barker, Nick Lalonde, Kim Hernandez and Maggie Bourque; step-great grandchildren, Logan Mercier, Mason Langwell, Hugh Landwell, Ryan Barker, Cave Barker, Kinsley Rogers, Everleigh Lalonde, Laken Lalonde, Jace Ramer, and Omri Broussard; and by many nieces and nephews.

 

 

She is preceded in death by parents, Antoine Bourque, Sr. and Mabel Dugas Bourque; husband, Alton Taylor, Sr.; sons, Alton Taylor, Jr. and Kyle Taylor; 2nd husband, Howard Saucier, Sr.; and her sister, Carol Mary Bourque.

 

Pallbearers will be Ricky Smith Jr., Jacques Smith, Steve Richard, Jr., Alton Richard, Bill Finney, and Caleb Finney.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Richard Sr., Keyghan Smith, Cameron Smith, and John Saucier.

 

Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
