May "Sister" Broussard Tauzin

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for May "Sister" Broussard Tauzin, 105, who passed away on May 14, 2024 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Wednesday.

Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Virginia Champagne and Ethan Hebert. Gift bearers will be Larry and Linda Thibodeaux.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1.

May was a lifelong resident of Breaux Bridge. May lived a life dedicated to serving others and her faith. She was known for her unwavering commitment as an Eucharistic Minster for the Homebound and Nursing Home, bringing solace and compassion to those in need. A devout member of the rosary group, May found comfort and strength in prayer. For over 34 years, she attended Eucharistic Adoration hour, deepening her connection to her spirituality.

Beyond her spiritual pursuits, May found joy in simple pleasures. She had a talent for quilting, creating beautiful pieces that will remain as a testament to her creativity and skill. Ironing became not just a chore but a meditative practice for May, a way to show care and attention to the smallest details. In moments of relaxation, she delighted in watching Jeopardy, showcasing her sharp wit and knowledge.

She is survived by her children, Lennet (Martha) Tauzin, Rebecca (Clifford) Hebert, and Yvonne (Cleve) Banquer; grandchildren, Tony (Debbie) Hebert, Chris (Tina) Hebert, Rusty (Heather) Hebert, Jude (Karen) Hebert, Garrett Banquer, Tabor Banquer, Shannon (Chris) Horton, Michael (Marie) Anderson, and Travis Tauzin; great-grandchildren, Slade (Olga) Hebert, Mason Hebert, Cullen Hebert, Gabriel Hebert, Grace Hebert, Tyler Lange, Bella Lange, Ethan Hebert, Julia Rose Hebert, Maddie Hebert, Ada Horton, Carlie Horton, Caris Banquer, and Kristen McCaw; great-great grandchildren, Ayden Hebert, Liam Hebert, Hayden Hebert, Christian Hebert, Mason McCaw, Aubrey McCaw, Ben McCaw, Brees Anderson, and TJ Tauzin; sister, Hilda Zaunbrecher.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Oleste Tauzin; daughter, Elaine Ann Tauzin; parents, Saul and Ona Tabor Broussard; brother, Earl Broussard, Sr.; sisters, Myrtle Fontenot, Lucille Olivier, and Lucy Broussard; great-grandchildren, Tori Hebert, Seth Hebert, and Tyler Marks.

Pallbearers will be Tony Hebert, Chris Hebert, Rusty Hebert, Jude Hebert, Garrett Banquer, and Travis Tauzin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Anderson and Tabor Banquer.
