Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Melissa Gary Arceneaux, 59, who passed away on October 27, 2025 at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Saturday.

Fr. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Sharon Sonnier and Chantelle Prejean. Gift bearers will be Krislyn Cormier, Addison Sonnier and Barry Lawrence, Jr.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by her children, Kelsie Sonnier and Devin (Delanie Eaglin) Arceneaux; step-daughter, Ashley Sonnier (Nikki) Courville; father, Nedley Gary; grandchildren, Legend Arceneaux, Amir Arceneaux and Henry Courville; sisters, Denise Cormier, Jennifer Gary, Brenda Gary and Sharon (Gregory) Sonnier; brother, Nathan (Vertie) Gary; and her in-laws, Virginia Arceneaux, Vickie Melancon, Valerie Miniex and Valencia Arceneaux.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Gary; and fiance, Kenneth Sonnier.

Pallbearers will be Keithan Cormier, Nathan Gary, Troy Broussard, Joseph Provost, Ricky Gary, Sr, and Cameron Houston.

Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Arceneaux, Cavan Paul, Greg Sonnier, Louis Velmont, Linton Borel, Lee Allen Gary, Kevin Broussard, Michael Provost, Ricky Gary, Jr. and Lennis Prejean.
