Michael Wayne Doucet

New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Michael Wayne Doucet, 52, who passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in New Iberia. Interment will be at a later date. Bro. George Whittle will be the speaker. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Doucet was born on January 9, 1964 to Lloyd Doucet Sr. and Olivia Fusilier Doucet, and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. He had previously worked for Louisiana Pest Control and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, and working on computers.Mr. Doucet was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was an Elder in the St. Martinville Congregation. He was very well versed in the Scripture, and enjoyed preaching and teaching. His daughter, Bailey, was the love of his life, and his pride and joy. Mr. Doucet always wanted to help everyone, and had a deep love for his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Broussard Doucet of New Iberia; mother, Olivia Doucet of New Iberia; daughter, Bailey Olivia Doucet of New Iberia; brothers, Bryan Doucet of New Iberia, Danny Doucet of Lafayette; sisters, Loyce Doucet of New Iberia, Joy Doucet of San Bernardino, FL; sisters-in-law, Verna Doucet of St. Martinville, Kristin Mendoza and husband Joseph of New Iberia; brothers-in-law, Jimmie Broussard of New Iberia, Herbert Aucoin and wife Brooke of New Iberia; mother-in-law, Jennifer Latiolais of Asheboro, NC; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by father, Lloyd Doucet, Sr.; a brother, Lloyd "Butchie" Doucet, Jr; and his father-in-law, Jimmie Broussard, Sr. Pellerin Funeral Home of New Iberia, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331 is in charge of arrangements.
