Cecilia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Michael Robert Guidry, 66, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, surrounded by his children and family. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am until 12:45 pm on Wednesday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 am on Wednesday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Peyton Wich and Sydney Guidry. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Michael was a native of Cecilia and a resident of Baton Rouge. He honorably served in the Louisiana Army National Guard and was employed with G.A.B. from 1970 1995 and A.I.G. from 1995 2005. He was an avid sports fan of L.S.U. and loved fishing and cooking, especially Sunday barbecues for family and friends. Michael was a loving and devoted father who loved spending quality time with his family. He is survived by his son, Matthew Guidry and wife, Brittany; his daughter, Michelle Guidry Wich and husband, Michael; three brothers, Larry Guidry and wife, Jamie, Jimmy Guidry and wife, Gina, and Tony Guidry; two sisters, Margaret Guidry Trahan and husband, Dale, and Cheryl Guidry Green; and four grandchildren, Sydney and Skylar Guidry and Peyton and Landon Wich. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul "Blanco" Guidry and Rita Willis Guidry; and his brother, Tommy Charles Guidry. Pallbearers will be Larry Guidry, Jimmy Guidry, Tony Guidry, Dale Trahan, Michael Wich, and Sid Willis. Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Guidry.
