Mildred Magee Graves

New Iberia – Arrangements are pending for Mildred Magee Graves, 98, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

A resident of New Iberia for the past six years, Mildred Magee Graves was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on May 23, 1928, to the late John David and Nancy Jeanette King Magee. She was a former bus driver for Bogalusa Schools, and a longtime resident of Otis, Louisiana, where she was a faithful member of Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church. Mildred was one of a kind. Having never met a stranger, she was very spunky and full of love for everyone. She will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Graves is survived by daughter, Lena Graves Ellis; daughter-in-law, Karen Graves; grandchildren, Rhonda Gonzales (A.J.), Robin Fabian, Rebecca Ellis, Jeffery Ellis, Rose Monteleon, Angel Fornea; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Sharp, Meaghan Sharp, Kaleb Fabian, Kody Romero (Michael Young), Makenzy Nichols (Joshua), James Cash Ellis, Justin Bracy, Elaine Alvadaro, and Mia Marrison; Great Great-grandchildren, Nathan Pittman, Sophia Sharp, Gabriel Sharp, Savannah Nichols, and Emmet Nichols.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wyman Graves; son, Rick Graves; and siblings, Jessie Bateman, Albert Magee, Claude Magee, Helen Knight, and Vernell Evans.

Mildred’s vibrant spirit will live in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
