Mildred LeBouef Romero

New Iberia – Private services will be held at a later date for Mildred LeBouef Romero, 91, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mildred LeBouef Romero was born on September 11, 1934, to the late Charles and Louise Romero LeBouef. She enjoyed going to the horse races and playing cards (especially Bourree’ and Pokeno), and she absolutely adored her dogs, especially Sassy, her last weenie dog. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Romero is survived by children, David Romero (Suzanne), Chris Romero, Sondra Landry (Allen), and Kim Romero (Anna); brother, Charles “Jim” LeBouef (Charlene); 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Murphy Romero; infant children, Kevin Romero and Tina Romero; and siblings, Edward LeBouef, Beulah Leger, Dennis LeBouef, and Romeal LeBouef.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Community Hospice for extraordinary care.

Mildred leaves behind a world more colorful than she found it. She will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
