New Iberia ;- Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Mitchell Jude Daspit, 40, who passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009 in Iberia Parish. ; Rev. Kenneth Leleux will officiate. ; Born on July 31, 1968, Mitchell was an artist, and a veteran of the Army National Guard, having served during Desert Storm. He enjoyed gardening, decorating, sewing, painting, reading, costume designing, and was a master jeweler. ; Survivors include wife, Amber Bowen Daspit of Lafayette; parents, Raymond "Ray" and Dorothy "Dot" Daspit of St. Martinville; daughters, Felicia Daspit George and husband Nicholas, Shelly Fatima Daspit, and Isabella Anna Alysia Daspit all of Lafayette; son, Justus Ky Daspit of Rincon, Georgia; grandparents, Mitchell and Alta "Tou Tout" Broussard of Arnaudville; brother, D. Scott Daspit of New Iberia; sister, Nicole Daspit Latiolais of Breaux Bridge; granddaughter, Ava Grace George. ; He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Daspit, and a nephew, David Andrew Daspit. ; Honorary Pallbearers include D.
