Modest Quebedeaux

Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Modest Pontiff Quebedeaux, 81, who passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Fr. Keenan W. Brown , will conduct the services. Readers are Hilda Quebedeaux and Elaine Dor. Her Children will serve as gifts bearers. Modest was a member of the St. John Francis Regis Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, ironing for out, cooking and dancing. Survivors include her husband of 63 years Bruno Quebedeaux of Arnaudville; her sons, Eugene Quebedeaux and his wife, Nancy and Curlis Quebedeaux and his wife, Hilda all of Arnaudville; her daughter, Sandra Taylor and her husband, Kenneth of Arnaudville and Lilly Melancon of Catahoula who was raised by Modest; her daughter-in-law, Miranda Hidalgo; her brothers, Luke Pontiff and his wife, Rita, Adolph Pontiff, Jr. and his wife, Leverlie, all of Arnaudville, Lester Pontiff of Bruton, AL, and Ronald Pontiff and his wife, Linda, of Arnaudville; her sisters, Margine Ella Latiolais and her husband, Vernon and Mary Lee LeGrange, all of Arnaudville; her sister-in-law, Mildred Pontiff of Opelousas; her grandchildren, Jaime Quebedeaux and his wife, Brigitte, Billy Quebedeaux and his wife, Tiffany, Chad Taylor and his wife, Michelle, Cyrus Taylor and his wife, Tessa, Hailey Quebedeaux, Hana Quebedeaux and Hobie Quebedeaux; 2 great grandchildren, Anthony Quebedeaux and Brett Taylor; and her step grandchildren, Robert Mark and Mary Martina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph Pontiff Sr. and Agnes Duplechain Pontiff; her son, Kevin Paul Quebedeaux; her sisters, Alice and Elaine Pontiff and her brother, Chester Pontiff. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2011 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
