Morral Joseph Roy

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 22, 2005, at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Parks for Morral Joseph Roy, 74, who died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at his residence in Parks. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Roy was a member of the St. Martinville Lions Club and the Catahoula Hunting Club. He was a former member of the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his son, Eric Roy and his wife, Elaine of St. Martinville; his daughters, Liz Viator and her husband, Kerry of Parks, and Morele Dupuis and her husband, Blake of Kingwood, TX; his brother, Maurice "Bud" Roy of Parks; his sister, Winnie Whittington of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Robin Hammonds, Kerri Zeringue, Dustin Viator and Erica Roy; and his great grandchild, Kelsey Zeringue. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florena Huval Roy; and his parents, Moise and Lillie Broussard Roy. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11 AM ~ 9 PM on Thursday and continue at 8 AM on Friday until 9:30 AM. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Thursday. Pallbearers will be Eric Roy, Dustin Viator, Kerry Viator, Blake Dupuis, Cory Zeringue and Maurice "Bud" Roy. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Guidroz, Joseph Whittington, Jeffery Meaux, and Raoul "Bobby" Robertson. The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Barbara Guidroz, Gayle Pierre, Vanessa Rodriguez, Merna Rabeaux, Libby Bourque and Mae Bergeron. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
