Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St. Louis Mission Church for Myrtle Ledet Thibodeaux, 83, who passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Alabama.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM on Saturday.

Father David M. Rozas will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Jewel Williams and Cheryl E. Hall.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 - Mausoleum.

Myrtle "Baby Sis" Ledet Thibodeaux, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend completed her season on Friday, September 20, 2024, at her daughter's residence in Madison, Alabama. She was born April 23, 1941, the fourth of six children to the union of Buchanan and Electa Thomas Ledet in Parks, Louisiana.

Myrtle was baptized in the Catholic faith at an early age and continued to recite the rosary and daily prayers until her health declined. She was a member of St. Louis Mission Chapel in Parks, LA for over forty years. After graduating from Carver High School in Breaux Bridge, LA, Myrtle continued her education at Grambling State University (College), where she received a Bachelors' degree in Elementary Education. She loved her students and her students loved her! Her career as an educator spanned twenty-nine years retiring from St. Martin and Lafayette Parish School Boards. Myrtle loved to cook and spend time with her siblings and extended family. She would listen to her favorite genre of music ... Zydeco, while making Gumbo and pecan candy for family gatherings and sharing with friends. Her life was decorated with beautiful memories and times spent with the people she loved. Even in her final moments, she showed phenomenal strength and faith in God.

Myrtle leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Adria "Rachell" Wilder (Ike) of Madison, AL and Kendra Thibodeaux-Franey (Chris) of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Immanuel Ledet Wilder, Madison, LA; brothers, Conney Ledet of Parks, LA and Noah Ledet of Houston, TX; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Buchanan and Electa Thomas Ledet; brothers, Harris and Nolan Ledet; sister, Shirley L. Alexander; and other relatives and friends

Pallbearers will be Nathan Bailey-Scott, Corey Ledet, Greg Poitier, Fred Hall, Jemole Singleton and Eddie Veal.

Honorary pallbearers will be Conney Ledet, Noah Ledet, Corey Ledet, Dion Ledet, Thaddeus Ledet, Ike Wilder, Immanuel Wilder and Chris Franey.
