Nancy Bucchi Bezold

Lafayette- A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am at Christian Life Center in Lafayette on Saturday, August 20, 2022, for Nancy Bucchi Bezold, 81, who passed away on August 12, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

A visitation will take place at Christian Life Center, 411 Verot School Rd, Lafayette, La 70508, on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of service.

Pastor Lane Nelson will officiate the memorial service.

Interment will follow at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, La on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 1:00 pm.

Nancy Bucchi Bezold was born December 17, 1940, Riverside, New Jersey. She was a devoted member of her church, Christian Life Center and immensely involved with Boy and Girl Scouts for many years. With her husband serving in the United States Army, she stayed home to care for their children and was a confidant to the other families during deployments. Nancy was an avid reader, a strong woman in faith, and cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by sons, James Henry Bezold, III (Yolanda) and John Henry Bezold (Lucinda "Lucy"); daughters, Kathleen Yanke, Carolyn Bezold, Nancy Cummins, and Donna Crochet (Christopher); 12 grandchildren, Kristopher, Patricia, Jason, Jessica, Simon, Jean Louis, James José, Ian Michael, Mary Kathryn, Lilly Rene, Jimmy, and Sandra; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Sr. Rosemary Bucchi; and her beloved dog, "Milo."

She is preceded in death by spouse, James Henry Bezold, Jr.; father, Eriberto and Mary Severs Bucchi; sisters, Johann Benecke, Carolyn Cocuzza, Arlene Housel, and Maryann Hubbs; and one brother, Albert Bucchi.
