Nellie Dupuis Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, March 1, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Nellie Dupuis Guidry, 80, who passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Evangeline Oaks Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert. Father Blake Dubroc will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Guidry was a lifelong resident of Breaux Bridge. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, and taking care of her plants. She mostly loved praying the Rosary and reading devotionals. Her most cherished moments were spent in the company of her children and grandchildren. Her family was truly the light of her life. Mrs. Guidry's giving and caring spirit will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Paul Jude Guidry (Katie) and Bryan Louis Guidry, Sr. (Victoria); daughter, Paula Guidry Dupuis (David); sister, Margaret Sweeney; grandchildren, Bryan Guidry Jr. (Hiroko), Megan Dupuis, Morgan Wilder (Joe), Mallory Dupuis, Macy Dupuis, James Desrosiers and Monique Gonzales; and great-grandchildren, Kei Guidry, Rei Guidry, Sophia Benoit, Viviann Benoit, Kamden Garber and Greyson Wilder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Paul Guidry; parents, Sidney Dupuis and Bibian Breaux Dupuis; grandchild, Stephanie Desrosiers; and brother, Robert Sidney Dupuis. Pallbearers will be Paul Jude Guidry, David Dupuis, Grant LaGrange, Nicky Breaux, Edgar Bourg, and Keith Garber. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Guidry, Sr., Bryan Guidry, Jr and Joe Wilder. The family wishes to thank the staff at Evangeline Oaks and St. Joseph Hospice for caring for their beloved Mom/Memaw during her illness.
