A native and resident of New Iberia, Nelson James Boudreaux was born on March 21, 1946, to the late Louis and Ada Moore Boudreaux. He proudly served our country in the Louisiana National Guard, and worked in the oilfield as a mechanic, machinist and electrician. Mr. Boudreaux was a devout Catholic, and a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was very active in Catholic Charismatic Renewal, made his Cursillo in 1993, and was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council #3425 (Assembly 321). He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, gardening, and cooking, but what he cherished most was time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Maureen "Sis" Dugas Boudreaux; son, Ray Boudreaux (Beth Livingston); daughter, Kay Ann Boudreaux Darby (Dean); grandchildren, Danielle Kristen Darby Estilette (Billy) and Kirsten Elizabeth Darby Goudeau (Tommy); a step-great-granddaughter, Hailey Estilette; siblings, Rosemary Russo (Leonard), Yvonne Russo (Jasper), Marjorie Hayward (Danny), Shirley Viator (Patrick), Betty Viator (Larry), Irving Boudreaux (Willa), Annette Boudreaux Blanchard, Steve Boudreaux (Judy), Bonnie Boudreaux Bonin (Corey), Eric Boudreaux (Karen), and Keith Boudreaux (Judy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, George Boudreaux and Jeanette Boudreaux.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Lahasky, Dr. Kris Lindsay, Dr. Moses Kitikule, and Grace Home Health and Palliative Care for extraordinary care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset medical expenses.
