Nelson Roberts

St. Martinville, Louisiana- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Nelson Roberts, 76, who passed away at Maison Teche Nursing Home.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM Saturday.

Rev. Marvin Gyasie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will Cami Zenon and Marge Roberts. Gift Bearers will be Shalacie Grey, Peggy Grey and Dorothy Zenon.

Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

Nelson was born on July 1, 1946. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends. He was a loving and outgoing person and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by daughters, Christina Roberts and Madeline Alexander (Tom); sisters, Mary Gary and Dorothy Zenon; grandchildren, Alonzo Alexander and Darrius Alexander; great grandchildren, Kayloni Alexander, Nolan Alexander, Kaliah Alexander, and Kendi Alexander; and his former wife, Margie Roberts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Ava Thibodeaux Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Diego Zenon, Bakari Zenon, Joshua Zenon, Troy Zenon, Jarvis Zenon, and Reginald Flugence.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrius Alexander, Alonzo Alexander, Danny Grey, MaCarey Pierre, Tom Alexander, and Spencer Filer.
