Nola was born on a cold winter morning, the 4th of January 1930, in Parks, Louisiana. The third child of 11 children to Elus and Emily Cormier Frederick.

She had a wonderful childhood playing with her older sister, who was her best friend, and her cousins in the fields of the small town. Four baby girls were born within a 4-month period the year she was born. They were so blessed to have each other. As she grew older her brothers became her bodyguards. Although they didn't have much money, they were a hard-working family, whose' mom and dad always made sure they felt loved, and always had food to eat and clean clothes to wear.

Nola lived in her hometown of Parks for 23 years. At the age of 17, she started her first job as a cashier at Randel's grocery store in Parks.

She worked there till she met and married Joseph "Black" Boudreaux and moved out of her small town to the city. It was only Lafayette, La but she was far away from home. She lived in Lafayette for 40 years with her husband and three children. Until one day the little country girl was offered a chance to move out of the big city back to the quiet country. But this time her country girl roots were planted in Cade, La. She loved the quiet country feel and she was happy once again.

While her spirit was rooted in her faith, she found that her passion was for sewing. Nola became a second-generation seamstress following her mother's example. Her habit became to hurry through her daily household chores early in the day, to be able to sit at her sewing machine and create the latest fashions for herself and her children. She even created her own daughter's wedding dress and years later assisted her daughter in sewing her granddaughter's wedding dress.

Nola was even able to take in sewing from outside her home for those who requested her talent as a seamstress. She was employed by Wormser's and Abadala's Department stores in Lafayette, working in the alterations departments. Later in life, after her sewing skills were no longer required she spent her time doing needle work by hand creating little gifts that she would share with those she loved.

Nola's culinary skills qualified her as an authentic Cajun cook. She had a special way of browning her food that gave it a true delicious Cajun flavor. Her dishes with tomato sauce were her specialty. She would sautee' the tomatoes until they were just right and had no bitterness. Her skills took her to various food-related jobs, such as working in the J.W. Faulk school cafeteria in the 1960's and later making boudin and cooking plate lunches at Comeaux's for nearly 20 years.

Nola is survived by her 3 loving children, Cynthia "Cindy" Guidry, Angela "Angie" Breaux (Troy), and son, Carlton "Jody" Boudreaux (Lisa); several grandchildren; Danny "Dusty", Desiree' "Desi", and Delaina Guidry, Dia G.Boutte', Steven "Alex" Boudreaux, Carli B. Hernandez, Brayton Boudreaux, Justin David, Ellen Comeaux, Mary-Claire Breaux, and Timmy Breaux; great grandchildren Luke, Grace, Samantha, Kathryn, Martin, Michael, David, and Matthew Boutte' and Celeste Hoague; brothers are Herman Frederick, Chester Frederick, and Lenny Frederick; and one aunt, Elaine "Toot" Cormier Louviere.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Boudreaux; her precious granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Guidry; her Son-in-Law, Danny Guidry Sr.; her Parents Elus and Emily Cormier Frederick; her siblings, Yola F. Castille, Hilda F Gary, Clifford "Coon", Leo, Lyness, Harold, and Ralph Frederick.

Nola was a loving and compassionate caregiver to her family selflessly nurturing her children and grandchildren with unwavering support.

A woman of unwavering faith and boundless love she will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Pallbearers will be Danny Guidry, Jr., Steven "Alex" Boudreaux, Brayton Boudreaux, Luke Boutte', Martin Boutte', and Michael Boutte'.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carlton Boudreaux, David Boutte', Matthew Boutte, James Guidry, Troy Breaux, Derek Jager, Brett Hoague, and Evan Hernandez.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at NSI for their loving care and personal attention. Along with her private sitters, Desiree' Guidry, Terri Frederick, Sharon Alexander Peter, Renee Crow, and Kristen Menard.
