Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 23, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, for Norbert "Sonny" LeBlanc, 90, who passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Friday from 8:30 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM on Friday.
Deacon Dennis Landry will officiate at the funeral service.
Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Norbert, known by "Sonny" to many, was born on July 10, 1935, in Breaux Bridge. He lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to his family and community.
Sonny enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor. After his military service, he made a significant mark in his hometown by owning and operating LeBlanc's Business Machine Shop and LeBlanc's Swamp Tours. He was a well-known, charismatic Cajun personality from Louisiana, famous for his personalized swamp tours near Breaux Bridge and St. Martinville, offering insights into alligator hunting and Creole culture in both English and French. He's been featured in publications like Smithsonian Magazine and on social media, showcasing his unique charm.
Sonny was not only a talented tour guide, but also an avid hunter, fisherman and commercial fisherman. He found joy in going to auctions and the great outdoors, particularly with his involvement in Duck's Unlimited, an organization that was close to his heart. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his community.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Joyce Guidry LeBlanc; children, Lisa LeBlanc (Chuckie Louque), Joey LeBlanc (Holly), Byron LeBlanc (Janet Allemand), Carl LeBlanc (Terrie), and David LeBlanc; grandchildren, April LeBlanc, Ali Hargroder (Scott), Jolie Poirier (Dustin), Jandy Comeaux-Credeur (Thomas), Bronson Credeur (Shana), Adia Credeur (Kameron Babin), Blake LeBlanc (Brielle), and Alyssa LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Jaxson LeBlanc, Natalie LeBlanc, Sonny LeBlanc, Parker Poirier, Kingston Poirier, Ezra Hargroder, Eden Hargroder, Evan Hargroder, Elliot Credeur, and Caroline Babin; and his siblings, Thomas LeBlanc (Linda), James LeBlanc, Wade LeBlanc, Jr. (Bonnie), Carolyn LeBlanc, Rebecca Dubose (Daniel), and Julie Clifton (Wayne).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade LeBlanc, Sr. and Evelyn Castille LeBlanc; grandson, Javen Edward LeBlanc; and one brother, Charles LeBlanc and his wife, Betty.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Joey, Byron, Carl, and David LeBlanc, and his grandsons, Bronson Credeur, and Blake LeBlanc.
