Patricia Ann "Pat" Romero

Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, for Patricia Ann "Pat" Romero, 64, who passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Iberia Medical Center.

Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

Rev. Matthew Hebert will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:15 am.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Patricia Ann Romero was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on June 17, 1958 to the late Mathew J. and Clara Gary Romero. She was an angel on earth, and a happy person. When she went to live at Landmark Nursing Home, she found a new family. She loved strolling the halls visiting with everyone there, playing Bingo and Pokeno, listening to music, and going to the casino (she enjoyed talking about the money she would win!).  At the nursing home, she dressed up for every holiday, and always looked forward to Christmas at Betty’s. Pat will be deeply missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Hope Romero of Coteau; sisters, Betty Romero Gary (LeRoy) of Coteau, and Ruby Romero (Richard Raymond) of New Iberia; a brother, Gerald Romero of Coteau;  and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Romero Boudreaux; grandparents, Sidney and Eula Touchet Gary, and Remy and Felicia Gary Romero; and a nephew, Michael Joseph Boudreaux, Jr.  

Pallbearers are Gerald Romero, Ray Gary, Chad Gary, Toby Kirl, Nerry Gary and Elgene Gary.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard Raymond and Shawn Juneau.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Iberia Medical Center ICU, and Landmark of Acadiana, for extraordinary care and compassion.
