New Iberia - Private services will be held at a later date for Patricia Chevalon Provost, 72, who passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. Her life was filled with love and cherished moments with her loved ones.
Patricia was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on September 17, 1951. She was the third of eight children born to the late Austin Joseph and Mildred Bourque Chevalon. She married Terry Michael Provost on August 24, 1969, and together, they had four children.
Patricia was a kind and caring woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was first and foremost a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Family was important to Patricia, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She enjoyed drinking coffee with family and friends, watching her soap operas, and playing the slot machines in her free time. She was affectionately known as "T-Baby" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they called their grandfather "T-Bone." She will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Provost is survived by two children, Terrilyn Mildred Provost Romero (Robert) and Lacy Marie Provost (Bobby Meyers); grandchildren, Katelyn Marie Foster Mouton (Christopher Paul Mouton II), Traver Michael Foster, Brieghton Pi Keohavong, Bella Claire Meyers, Brayleigh Layne Meyers, Bentlee Rae Meyers, Blayze Romero (Kristian Turner Romero), Brennan Price, Paul Anthony Provost Jr., Heidi Provost, and Rebecca Arnaud; great-grandchildren, Connor Easton Mouton, Kollyns Jolie Mouton, Hayven Marie Foster, Jaxsen Thomas Foster, Lottie Rey Jane Foster, Riggins Paul Romero, Cimee Rae Romero, and Sawyer Kate Romero; siblings, Dianna Chevalon Davidson (Jimmy), Brenda Chevalon Whitley (Tommie), Wanda Chevalon Romero (Leonard), Austin "Sonny Boy" Chevalon Jr., and Webb Chevalon; half-siblings from the marriage of her father and step-mother (Austin Joseph and JoAnn Broussard Chevalon), Katherine Chevalon Martin (Stephen), Rose Mary Chevalon Chatagnier (Wydell), and Robin Chevalon; step-siblings, Barbara Baudoin LeBlanc (Glenn), and Sarah Baudoin Hebert (Darryl); and son-in-law, Joshua Godette.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Terry Michael Provost; children, Paul Anthony Provost and Amy Lee Provost Foster Keohavong Godette; step-mother, Joann Broussard Chevalon; brothers, Dickie Chevalon and Tracey Chevalon (Jeannie Anderson Chevalon); and step-brothers, Michael Baudoin and Douglas Baudoin.
