Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Paul Alton Allemand, 84, who passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at The Ellington of Rayne.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday by the American Legion of Parks.

Deacon Dennis Landry will officiate at the funeral service.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

Paul Alton Allemand, affectionately known as Polo or T-Paul, was born on January 6, 1942, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Paul was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend to many. His legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

Paul proudly served in the United States Army from June 20, 1960 to May 25, 1963. After completing his basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, he honed his skills as a machinist at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. His military service took him to France, where he spent 2 ½ years, creating cherished memories while exploring the beautiful streets of Paris and Bordeaux, as well as traveling to Spain and Amsterdam.

A dedicated machinist in the fabrication industry, Paul also embraced his role as the family matriarch, lovingly guiding and keeping his eight sisters in line. He was deeply connected to family gatherings, instilling a sense of unity and joy in the family.

Paul was an avid gardener, known for his green thumb and particularly for growing delicious tomatoes. His love for the outdoors was rivaled only by his passion for sports, especially football. He was a devoted fan of the Breaux Bridge Tigers, ULL, LSU, and the New Orleans Saints.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Degeyter Allemand; daughter, Jan Neveu (Michael); sons, Troy Allemand (Debbie Cormier) and Tommy Allemand; sisters, Elaine Thevenet (Leroy), Thelma Hollier (Larry), Janet Allemand, Betty Richard (Grant) and Louella Kennison; step-brothers, Walter Duhon (Joetta) and Allen J. Duhon; grandchildren, Hallie Cormier, Heather Neveu and Michelle Neveu Suttles; great grandchildren, Mckenna Thibodeaux, Harper and Emmett Suttles; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard Allemand, Jr.; mother Amy Cormier Duhon; step-father, Adam "Buster" Duhon; sisters, Rena Mae Allemand, Iva Mae Johnson, Diana Allemand and Linda A. Guidry; brother, Leroy Allemand; nephews, Kenneth Benoit and Chad Bourque; and a great niece, Macie Lynn Eslinger.

Pallbearers will be Troy Allemand, Tommy Allemand, Jeremie Allemand, Jeremie Allemand II, Walter Duhon, and Quinn Guidry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Neveu and Brian New.
