Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 a.m., on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, in Arnaudville, for Paul Clinton Charles, 50, who died on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Father Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Carmelita Lewis and Tonneshika Webb. Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Solange Champagne, Jasmine Williams, and Sommer Charles. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Paul, also known as 'Boudin' to his family and friends, was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed riding his bike any time he could; it was an indescribable sense of freedom to him. He was a member of the 'No Limit Posse,' 'Nationwide Outcasts,' and the 'Gaff Toppers Outdoor' motorcycle clubs. In his free time, Paul enjoyed socializing, dancing, and attending gatherings with family and friends. He also loved riding his tractor, which he took meticulous care of, and had a passion and a gift for restoring old vehicles. Paul will be sadly missed by his family and the many friends hes encountered in his life, but the memory of him will forever linger in their hearts. Survivors include two sons, Patrick Champagne and his wife, Rena, of St. Martinville, and Quinton Charles of Cecilia; three daughters, Keena Davis and her husband, Ryan, Penni Charles and her fianc, Jacoby, and Brandi Charles and her fianc, Corey, all of Cecilia; three brothers, Russell Charles and his wife, Vickie, of Cecilia, Nelson Mouton and his companion, Sheila, of Baton Rouge, and Chad Jones and his wife, Alcina, of Texas; five sisters, Mary Ann Mouton and her husband, Alvin of Henderson, Rosa Champagne and her husband, Jerry, of Breaux Bridge, Trena Williams and her companion, Kenneth, of Cecilia, Valerie Derouselle and her companion, Wilbert, of Parks, and Anita Batiste, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Solange Champagne and Kyra Davis; his step mother, Shirley Charles of Cecilia; three step sisters, Cicely Jolivette of Texas, Miranda Jolivette of Cecilia, and Markitha Jolivette of Texas; and his special friend, Tabitha Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Russell Charles and Mary Rita Mouton Williams; his maternal grandparents, Melton and Mary Mouton; paternal grandparents, Leo and Cecile Charles; and his step father, Percy Williams. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Dennis 'Danny' Simon, MaCary Benjamin, Kenneth Joseph, Roland Patt, Jr., Leonard 'Crip' Antoine, and Harold 'Smooth' Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Champagne, Quinton Charles, Russell Charles, Nelson Mouton, Chad Jones, Melton Alexander, Spencer Charles, Corey Chevalier, Ryan Davis, and Jacoby Landry. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to his family and friends, everyone who made donations and offered prayers, the staff of Lafayette General Medical Center, especially Amy with the Chronic Care Team, and to the 'No Limit Posse' Motorcycle Club, for their continuous care and concern during his hospitalization, and they would also like to express a 'Very Special Thank You' to Tabitha Richard for her constant devotion to him - 'You were by his side from the time of his injury until his passing.' ; And lastly, to our mother, Linda Charles, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for always being there for Daddy, and for us, during times of need, no matter how large or small - we love you dearly. All of you will forever be in our thoughts and prayers for everything you have done for us and our father, during this most difficult time in our lives.
