Paul "Paulo" Cormier

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church's Borel Center in Breaux Bridge, for Paul "Paulo" Cormier, 89, who passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 8:30 am until 11:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Fr. Stephen Ugwu will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Ashley Cormier and Shala Cormier. Gift bearers will be Molly Cormier and Sadie Fontenot. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Cormier was a carpenter and a great handyman. He was also retired from Lafayette Parish School System, where he worked in maintenance at N.P. Moss and Acadian Middle schools, and he also worked at Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School. Paulo was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his bike. He enjoyed listening to Cajun-French music and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Aglais Landry Cormier; sons, Jeff Cormier and wife Donna, and Gary L. Cormier and wife Mona; daughters, Dolly Bourgeois and husband Herman, Debbie C. Plouet (Jiro Hatano), Lisa Cormier (Joe Barrett), Leslie C. Stutes and husband Tony, and Amanda C. Fontenot and husband Blane; brother, Ames Cormier, Jr.; step brothers, Phillip Cormier and wife Debbie, and Leonard Cormier; sisters, Annabelle Borel and Edna Marks; step sister, Marcella Dupuis; grandchildren, Christopher Plouet, Jesse Cormier and wife Lara, Shala Cormier, Brandon Cormier, Tyler Cormier, Derrick Bourgeois and wife Lauren, Ashley N. Cormier (Marcus Richard), Joshua Stutes, Jonathan Stutes, and Sadie Fontenot; and his great grandchildren, Molly Cormier, Lyla Cormier, and Stephen David. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ames, Sr. and Edola Hebert Cormier; his step mother, Lena Castille Cormier; a grandchild, Holly Cormier; infant daughter, Sarah Cormier; sister-in-law, Lillian Cormier; and brothers-in-law, Clifford Borel, Chester Marks, and Melvin Dupuis. Pallbearers will be Christopher Plouet, Jesse Cormier, Brandon Cormier, Tyler Cormier, Derrick Bourgeois, and Joshua Stutes.
