New Iberia - Paul Mahé Beuhler II passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 74. A long-time resident of Iberia Parish, Louisiana, Paul spent decades in his home on Shady Oak Lane in Loreauville and more recently on West Saint Peter Street in New Iberia.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date.
The Rev. Ann Brown Etheridge will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home.
Paul was born in Thibodeaux on September 29, 1951, to parents Paul Mahé Beuhler and Marie Corinne Caillouet Beuhler. He was the eldest of four siblings, including John, Charles, and Sally. Their family made their home along Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge on a deep lot lined with azaleas, large vegetable gardens, and woods to explore.
He graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge in 1969 and briefly attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL), where he met his future wife, Susie.
Paul and Suzette “Susie” Ann Judice were married on May 13, 1972, and they raised three children, Aleece, Kim, and Jared. Paul and Susie enjoyed over 53 years of marriage, and renewed their vows surrounded by family in a 2024 ceremony on a mountaintop in North Carolina.
A self-employed residential contractor, Paul owned and operated Shady Oak Construction, building solid and enduring homes that are enjoyed by numerous families to this day. A trustworthy businessman and past member of the Iberia Homebuilders Association, Paul developed strong friendships with his colleagues and vendors.
Paul and Susie lovingly renovated a century-old sidehall Victorian home in New Iberia that has been their residence for over 25 years and serves as a home base for their children, grandchildren, and extended family to gather.
He enjoyed time spent with family and friends in activities such as fishing, hunting, boiling crawfish, picking satsumas with the grandchildren, taking day trips around southern Louisiana, and especially visiting Ocean Springs, Mississippi, which held a special place in his heart. Paul had a great sense of humor, and a twinkle in his eye would let you know one of his jokes was soon to follow.
He was a builder of homes, but also of relationships. Paul was a loyal friend to many and a devoted family member in his roles of son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and godfather. He will be deeply missed.
Paul was especially proud of his three children: Aleece Beuhler Langford, Kim Beuhler Hays and spouse Phillip Hays Jr., and Jared Patrick Beuhler and spouse Adrienne Nichols Beuhler; and his grandchildren: Abby Langford, Ella Langford, Anya Beuhler, Emily Finn Beuhler, Brianne Hays, Kate Hays, Jordan Beuhler, Ian Beuhler, and Darian May.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Mahé Beuhler and Marie Corinne Caillouet Beuhler; his parents-in-law Ronald “Ron” Joseph Judice and Anna Mae “Bennie” Latiolais Judice; his paternal grandparents, John Clarence Beuhler and Lula Arrington Beuhler; and his maternal grandparents, Alban Charles Caillouet and Heloise Azema Talbot Caillouet.
Paul is survived by his brother John Gregory Beuhler and spouse Lacricia Ann Hoyt Beuhler; brother Charles Joseph Beuhler and spouse Rita Beuhler, sister Sally Beuhler Ruggiero and spouse Robert Ruggiero, brother-in-law Ted Paul Judice and spouse Cindi Roberts Judice, sister-in-law Christie Judice Richard and spouse Chadd Richard, and brother-in-law David James Judice and spouse Venita Gray Judice; his former son-in-law Warren Eugene Langford; as well as by his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
His immediate family would like to thank everyone for their love and prayers. Gratitude is also extended to the staff of The Calcutta House of Hospice of Acadiana for helping to care for Paul in his final days.
