Paul William McDonough

St. Martinville - A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Paul William McDonough, 76, who passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at his residence. 

A man of honor, Paul honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Aside from his military service, Paul enjoyed many hobbies and interests throughout his life. One of his most cherished passions was traveling with his family to new places around the world. 

Paul was also an avid motorsport fan - a passion that ran deep in his family - as he was the first of three generations of race car drivers. Paul's love for sports did not stop with racing. He was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and he often reminisced about being at the first home game at Tulane Stadium and the NFC Championship game that sent the Saints to the Super Bowl. 

A loving father and grandfather, Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Darren McDonough (Alicia); daughter, Jennifer McDonough (Mary); grandchildren, Logan McDonough, Peyton McDonough and Landon McDonough.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John McDonough and Myrtle Wittschen McDonough; and brother, John McDonough.
