Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Peggy Ransonet Perez, 72 who died Thursday, June 2, 2011 in Lydia . Entombment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Nguyen will be the Celebrant. Born on April 3, 1939 , Mrs. Perez worked along side her husband and son in the family business, Perez Marine for many years. She enjoyed reading and going to the casino with her friends. Survivors include her husband, Carroll Perez of Lydia; son, Craig 'Bubba' Perez and wife Cheryl of Lydia; daughters, Tessie Perez of Lydia, Julie Robichaux and husband Greg of Lydia, Claire Perez and fianc Terry Luent of Lydia; grandchildren, Craig Lopez, Chasity Perez, Chrissy Perez, Brandon Mendoza, Cortney Mendoza, Lyndi Gaspard, Kalyn Landry, Morgan Robichaux, Taylor Fields, Ashlyn Fields, and Erica Fields; 5 great grandchildren and one due to arrive in October. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rilius and Laurence Guillotte Ransonet; and a brother, Eric 'Ricky' Ransonet. Pallbearers will be Brandon Mendoza, Cortney Mendoza, Nick Gaspard, Beau Landry, Brian Grow, and John Savage, III. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for their extraordinary care and support. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Friday.
