Perry James Allemond, Sr.

Cecilia, Louisiana - A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, November 17, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Perry James Allemond, Sr., 68, who passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. 

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home - Cecilia on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a 12:00 PM service.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Friday. 

Rev. Michael Richard will officiate at the funeral service. 

Perry was born on December 25, 1954, and his admirable life journey was filled with dedication, love, and commitment to his family and community. He will always be remembered as a caring father who worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones.

In his professional career, Perry served the St. Martin Parish Sheriff Department with honor and integrity. His commitment to keeping his community safe was high on his list, and he dedicated many years of service to this important role. Perry's hard work extended beyond law enforcement as he held positions at Soloco (Tugboat), Moore's Wire Lines Services, and Westside Galvanizing Plant. Through these various roles, Perry showcased his strong work ethic and dedication.

Aside from his professional endeavors, Perry had a deep passion for the outdoors. He was an enthusiastic member of the Family Tradition Hunting Club, which allowed him to share his love for nature with like-minded individuals. When not hunting or fishing, Perry delighted in spending time on boats, taking in the serene beauty of the water. The joy he found in these activities brought him closer to nature and provided him with cherished moments of tranquility.

Cooking was another avenue through which Perry expressed his creativity and brought people together. Gathering around a table filled with delicious dishes prepared by him became a cherished tradition for family and friends. Whether it was a hearty meal or something as simple as sharing a cup of coffee with Kirby and friends, Perry understood the power of food in fostering connections between loved ones.

In addition to cooking and outdoor activities, playing cards was one of Perry's favorite pastimes shared with family and friends. Sitting around the table engaged in friendly competition brought about laughter and joy that will be treasured by all those who had the pleasure of participating.

Perry's love for his family was immeasurable. He was a devoted father who wholeheartedly supported his children in all their endeavors. Perry's dedication ensured that they always had the encouragement and guidance needed to succeed. His pride in their accomplishments was evident, and his love will forever be etched in their hearts.

He is survived by his father, Leonce Allemond; son, Perry James (Jennifer) Allemond, Jr.; daughter, Amanda Lynn (Jody) Duplechien; sisters, Gwendolyn Nargassans, Lisa Guidry, and Lori (Al) Laviolette; grandchildren, Braylon Broussard, Holden Allemond, Harlie Allemond, Johl Duplechien, Kaden Allemond, and Ava Allemond; great-grandchildren, Evee Lynn Guidry and Presley Mae Allemond; and his godchild, Jeremy Patin.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Evelyn Allemond; wife, Marjorie Allemond; son, Jamey Allemond; brothers, Terry "Bottle" and Kurt Allemond; and his maternal grandparents, who were like his parents, Editha "Mom-Toe" and Alcide "Pop-Chit" Serette.
