Ralph Castille

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Ralph Joseph Castille, 74, who died on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Father Louis Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Horace Guidry and Kurt Guidry. Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Karson Albert, Cezaire Green, and Caleb Marcantel. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Ralph honorably served in the Louisiana National Guard, having attained the rank of Sgt. E5, with Co. D 2/BG 156th Infantry. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation, after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service, and was presently employed by Teche-Vermilion Freshwater District, as Supervisor, for the past 18 years. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church where he served as an Usher for many years. Ralph was the embodiment of Christian values. Moral decency, honesty, strong work ethics, respect for others, integrity, love of family - all these characteristics and more filled the heart given to him by his Creator. This heart and all it contained, will beat in the hearts of all who loved him. Husband, father, brother, friend - he will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife, Gaynell Guidry Castille of Breaux Bridge ; three daughters, Terri LeVasseur and her husband, Kirk, Nanci Castille, and Conni Castille; his brother, Percy Castille and his wife Lucille; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Henrietta Frederick Castille; his brother, Patrick Castille; his maternal grandparents, Sevigne and Anna Guidry Frederick; and his paternal grandparents, Frank James and Dora Thevenet Castille. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Michael Naquin, R.L. Ketelers, Percy Castille, Jade Marcantel, Luke Marcantel, and Kirk 'Doc' LeVasseur. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Angelle, Jason Dupuis, Stuart Green, Dwayne Guidry, Kyle Guidry, Lennis 'Chute' Huval, Erral LeBlanc, and James Naquin. Many thanks to the staff of Louisiana Oncology, especially to Eric Buller, PAC, Drs. Eugene Brierre and James Cole, for their outstanding professionalism and compassion.
