Raphael James Lalonde

Arnaudville - A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2024, 2:00 pm at the V.F.W. Hall in Arnaudville, for Raphael James Lalonde, 64, who passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. 

Raphael James Lalonde, a cherished member of the Arnaudville community, was born in Arnaudville, Louisiana, on April 29, 1960. Raphael was a beloved son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His uplifting spirit and multitude of talents touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A talented fence builder by trade, Raphael's true passion lay in his love for training horses and preparing them for shows, working in his leather shop, and enjoying the outdoors while cooking on his "Coonass Microwave". His enthusiasm for working on automobiles and his collection of fast cars are just a few of the many ways he left his mark on the world. His diverse skills and generous nature allowed him to extend kindness and support to numerous family members and friends throughout his lifetime.

Raphael will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, a beacon of love, talent, and kindness. May his spirit soar free, knowing he is loved and remembered by his daughter, Lydia (Shaun) Miller; mother, Ethel Lee Angelle Lalonde; sisters, Kathy (Frank) Bergeron and Libbie (Kenneth) Richard; grandchildren, Gabrielle (Baylin) Trahan and Brayden Miller; great grandchildren, Mason and Ari; nephews, Terrel (TJ) (Julie) Bergeron, Travis Bergeron, and Todd (Paige) Bergeron; nieces, Trina (Johnny), Stelly and Kendra Jo (Ryan) Guillot; great nephews, Ethan Stelly, Jayce Guillot, Brent Bergeron, Lane Bergeron, and Trandon Bergeron; and his great nieces, Taylor Bergeron, Kailee Alyceè, Aubrie Stelly, Adalee Guillot, Abigail Bergeron, Amelia Bergeron, and Rhyleigh Bergeron.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wilson "LaLa" Joseph Lalonde; maternal grandparents, Dieu Donne and Luce Q. Angelle; paternal grandparents, Homer and Eunice B. Lalonde; nephew, Mark Richard; great nephew, Austin Stelly; and his great niece, Sydney Bergeron.
