New Iberia Private services will be at a later date for Raymond Horace George, Jr., 94, who died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in New Iberia.
Mr. George was born on May 29, 1920 in Minonk, Illinois, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served our country during World War II. He worked as an Logistics Engineer in the aerospace industry for many years, and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Georges hobbies included reading, gardening, shopping, and eating, however his most cherished moments were the time that he spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, L. Dean George and wife Jenny Landry George of New Iberia, Andrea Farwell and husband William Farwell of Columbia, South Carolina, Nancy Lee Bates and husband Colin of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Gina, Michael, Elizabeth, Aaron, Michael, Allison; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond George, Sr.; wife, Marie George; and two brothers, Jack George, and Richard George.
