St. Martinville A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Rebecca Thomas Borel , 63, who passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm on Tuesday and continue at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers for the service will be Ashley Borel and Megan Borel. Gift bearers will be Abigail Borel and Caitlyn Twite. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Mrs. Rebecca enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends and would cook for them as often as she could. She loved all her patients at St. Martin Rehab and Nursing Center. Reading was a favorite pastime of hers. She is survived by her husband, Warren James Borel Sr., her sons, Warren J. Borel Jr. and his wife, Mona Breaux Borel and David Z. Borel and his wife, Crystal Barfield Borel, her daughters, Jessica "Tika" Borel Charpentier and her husband, Daniel M. Charpentier and Margaret Borel Dugas and her husband, Jason J. Dugas, her brother, George Thomas and his wife, Kathy Thomas, her sisters, Claudine Gauthier, Leslie Thomas and Lorraine Melancon, her grandchildren, Demi Albert, Rebecca Albert, Whitney Albert, Caitlyn Twite, Logan Twite, Ashley Borel, Katherine Borel, Megan Borel, Dillon Borel, Bryson Reppond, Kent Borel and Abigail Borel, her great grandchildren, Averyn LeBLanc and Joel Bennett Reppond. She is preceded in death by her parents, August Leo Thomas and Margaret Bergeron Thomas and a grandson, Joel Reppond. Pallbearers will be Dillon Borel, Logan Twite, Kent Borel, Bryson Reppond, Matthew Randazzo, Gabe Gauthier, Daniel Thomas and Albert Bergeron.
