Born on December 20, 1930, in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, Regis dedicated his life to farming, a vocation he proudly practiced with unwavering devotion until he retired from Lake Charles Dredge Tow.
Red was not only a farmer but also a passionate gardener, his garden becoming a sanctuary that reflected his spirit and dedication. His love for nurturing plants was rivaled only by his enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge with others. He delighted in teaching the art of gardening, often saying that one day, Quentin would be put in "Pedu's garden." Regis's garden was his pride and joy, a place where he made memories and found tranquility.
Red enjoyed visiting with his beloved family, especially on weekends with his nieces, creating moments filled with laughter and love. He had a special bond with his great-great-niece, Marley, whom he affectionately called his "Tutu." He would often share stories of the "old days," filling hearts with both nostalgia and joy.
Red also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Tiny, who remained a steadfast companion through many seasons of his life. After a long and fulfilling life, Regis has now been reunited with his beloved wife, Vesta, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Their love story serves as a testament to a life well-lived.
He is survived by his nephew, Easton Mouton (Elaine); great-niece/godchild, Marylene Borel (Jody); great-niece, Tammy Huval (Quentin); great-great-nephews, Bailey Borel (Erin), Cole Borel (Kamryn), Blaine Huval (Adi); great-great-nieces, Lindsey Huval (Steven) and Marley Huval; great-great-great-nephew, Logan Zerangue; and great-great-great-niece, Mallory Borel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Duplechien Mouton; nephew, Bobby Mouton; parents, Francis and Antoinette Duplechien Mouton; and brothers, Joseph Mouton and Toduce Mouton.
Pallbearers will be Quentin Huval, Cole Borel, Jody Borel, Blaine Huval, Steven Zerangue and Bailey Borel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Easton Mouton and Alvin Mallet.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, Allen & Madeline Gerard, Bridget Courville and Abbie Zerangue.
