Jeanerette- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2005, at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette for Reverend Irving Bowles, Sr., 84, who died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. Peter United Methodist Cemetery in Jeanerette. Rev. Bowles was a member of the Prince Hall - Masonic Lodge in Arnaudville. Survivors include four sons, Tyrone M. Bowles of Houston, TX, Pastor Irving Bowles, Jr. and his wife, Pastor Barbara Bowles of DeSoto/Dallas, TX, Terry Bowles of Omaha, Nebraska and Kenneth E. Bradley of Houston, TX; two daughters, Rosanna B. Nicholson and her husband, Lloyd and Verna B. Jackson and her husband, Rev. William C. Jackson, all of Houston, TX; his loving companion, Pearl Williams of Cade; three brothers, Rev. David Bowles, Jr. of Amite, LA, Shedric Bowles of Houston, TX and Taylor Bowles of Jeanerette; four sisters, Patricia Robinson, Martha Fontenette and Genevieve Washington, all of Jeanerette; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Anna Bowles; his sister, Mary Ann Spencer; his former wife and her spouse, Elvie and Edward Bradley. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2 PM - 10 PM on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, LA and continue at 9 AM on Saturday until time of service at First Jerusalem Baptist Church, 835 S. Monnot Rd., Jeanerette, LA. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
