Rinas Solomon, Jr., a beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Saint Martinville, Louisiana, at the age of 76. Born on November 26, 1949, in New Iberia, Louisiana, Rinas led a life enriched by love, family, and service to others.
Rinas was a proud veteran of the Army, having served his country with honor. After his military service, he dedicated himself to his work as a mechanic at Fruit of the Loom, where he spent many years honing his craft. Beyond his professional life, Rinas was known for his generous spirit. He lent a helping hand to those in need and could often be found cutting grass or picking pecans, embodying the values of community and hard work.
A man of simple pleasures, Rinas enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to music, Barbequeing, watching football, especially the 49'ers, and dancing. His infectious joy for life brought warmth to all around him.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Dorothy S. Solomon; his children, Keshia Cole, Lee Pradia, Jr. (Ayu), Dorita Doucette (Jackie, Sr.), Tomica Pradia, and Casaline Nady; grandchildren, Quinntin Senegal, Sr., Christopher Francois, Shakiyla Doucette, Jackie Doucette, Jr., Jamal Pradia, Alyssa Solomon, Sierra Pradia, and Kourtne' Solomon; 14 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Curtis Solomon, Helen Carrier and Lucy Mae Bonhomme.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Leona Ledet Solomon; siblings, Frank Solomon, Edward Solomon, Ella Webster, Lou Ella Huff, Mary Ann Solomon, AnnaBell Baker, and Dorothy M. Solomon; grandson, Damien Champ; and great granddaughter, Jasmine Senegal and Ky'Lee Rae Solomon.
