Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church honoring the life of Marion Dugas Naquin, 90, who passed away on October 30, 2025.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until service time.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday.
Rev. Greg Cormier will officiate at the funeral mass. Gift bearers will be Caroline Schwab, Baylor Shoemake, McKlain Cortez, Miley Allemond, McKenzie Clay, Mia Clay, Emily Clay, Harli Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Alivia Champagne, Jordyn Champagne, Adylee Medina, Sophia Medina, Simone Catherine Picard and Alessandra Jo Picard.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Marion, alongside her late husband, proudly owned and operated the Crawfish Kitchen, a beloved culinary establishment. She embraced the joy of food service as a self-employed restaurateur, where her warm spirit shined through her interactions with patrons. Loved ones recall her passion for meeting new people and the countless friendships she forged over shared meals and laughter. Her kindness and hospitality created a welcoming environment that will forever be cherished by those who visited her establishment. Their culinary talents garnered recognition, leading them to be invited on three separate occasions to cook for the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. Marion took immense pride in her work and treasured the connections made through her restaurant.
Beyond her culinary passions, Marion found joy in gardening and nurturing her yard, where she cultivated beauty and serenity, reflecting her nurturing spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was always grateful to host cajun get togethers, filled with laughter, food, love and music.
She is survived by her children, Arlene (Neil) Thibodeaux, E. J. Naquin, Jr., Deanna (Pat) Clay, Jean Naquin, Patty (Joey) Picard and Marion (Ronnie) Boudreaux; grandchildren, Pat (Jill) Clay, Ben (Penny) Clay, Jamie (Chris) Martin, Jenny (Cody) Champagne, Anna (Jason) Schwab, Abby (Jason) Soileau, Amy (Catlin) Shoemake, Brittany (Marcus) Cortez, Scott (Alaynee) Thibodeaux, Morgan (Jordan) Allemond, Josh (Chelsey) Picard, Matthew (Hunter) Picard, Beau (Matti) Boudreaux and Raquel (Garrett) Naquin; and 28 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Naquin, Sr.; parents, Leonard and Yola Dugas; son Leonard "Lenny" Naquin; siblings, Anna Lee Roger, Rose Thibodeaux, John Melvin Dugas, Albert Dugas, Irene Leger and Thelma Hebert.
Pallbearers will be E. J. Naquin, Jr., Jean Naquin, Pat Clay, Ben Clay, Josh Picard, Matt Picard, Scott Thibodeaux and Beau Boudreaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Payton Clay, Tucker Clay, Griffin Champagne, Hudson Schwab, Alex Soileau, Ethan Soileau, Cooper Soileau, Tucker Shoemake, Jackson Shoemake, Brecc Cortez, Brady Allemond, Briggs Thibodeaux and Steven Medina.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her longtime caregiver Pamela Angelle, Dr. Philip Prweitt, Nurse Practioner Emily Levy, Hospice of Acadiana, NSI Home Health, her longtime Dr. Jamie Cordova and her favorite oncology nurse Chelsey Picard.
