Rita Fontenot Pratt

St. Martinville Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Rita Fontenot Pratt, 82, who passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Wednesday at Notre Dame Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 9 am on Wednesday. Rev. Augustinus Seran, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Pratt worked as a substitute teacher for many years and enjoyed working with children of all ages. She was a wonderful homemaker who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Tony M. (Samika) Pratt of St. Martinville, Patrick Pratt of Broussard, and Kevin (Maria) Pratt of Houston, TX; her daughter, Debra Ann (Bertrand, Jr.) Lemelle of Raywood, TX; two sisters, Agnes Renner of San Francisco, CA and Linda Fontenot of Washington; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and two nieces, Helen Ledet of Broussard and Betty Knox of Lafayette. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vincent Pratt; her parents, Marshall and Rena Fontenot; two brothers, William and Charles Fontenot; and four sisters, Frances Fontenot, Anna Tauriac, Lucy Fontenot, and Earlene Fontenot. Pallbearers will be Patrick Pratt, Kevin Pratt, Larry Pratt, Ralph Roberson, Curtis Dumas, and Felton Robertson. Honorary pallbearer will be Randall Romero.
