Rita Faye Sonnier

Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Rita Faye Comeaux Sonnier, 60, who passed away at her residence surrounded by her family. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM by Clifford.

Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the funeral mass.  Readers will be Patsy Hebert and Devan Morrison.   Gift Bearers will be Denny Comeaux and his wife, Cristine San Martin

Rita enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, cooking, entertaining her family and friends with her humor, eating out and sharing a cup of coffee with her friends who would pop in for a visit. She loved all her pets. Rita never met a stranger and treated everyone with love and respect.  She will be remembered for generous heart, kind gestures towards others, and having a tough personality, which got her through some very difficult times in her life.

She is survived by husband Richard Sonnier; sons Denny (Cristina San Martin) Comeaux and Benny (Jeff Topping) Comeaux; brothers, Charles (Tammy) Comeaux and Richard (Michelle) Comeaux; sisters, Tammy (Daniel) Green and Betty (Robert) Lagneaux; grandchildren,  Dylan Comeaux,  Camila Comeaux, Alyssa Sonnier, Lanny Sonnier and Olivia Sonnier.

She is preceded in death by parents, Camille and Mary Grace Delhomme Comeaux.

Pallbearers will be Benny and Denny Comeaux, Daniel, David, Drew and Dustin Green, and Jeff Topping.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Sonnier.
